You generally farm for money, so you can buy nice looking things instead of generic looking things. However, repeated killing (usually in large groups) in order to quickly achieve titles is also referred to farming aswell (such as farming for Sunspear Points).

I farm for fun. Usually pvp factions areas (AB, Jade, Fort). It gets me points on my titles. On occasion I will go UW with a W/Rt if i need a bit of cash for something. I got my FoW armor and torms now though, so i just play for fun. The titles are just a bonus.

I have been 'farming' collector items to turn in at the next event --wintersday. Just like at Halloween there are collectors for drops (juv. termite legs, charr carvings etc), there are also collectors at wintersday.

I have also farmed for xp for my survivor, as well as rep points in nightfall and eye.

Whatever I feel like - it's the beauty of playing a Sin as a main. If I'm in desperate need of cash I'll go UW for Ecto (sometimes just for fun), if there's a weekend event I'll head out and annihilate swarms of Vaettir, if I'm feeling adventurous or needy I'll farm some greens.

In between all of this, of course, "farming" for titles... it's only farming per se, but meh.

I don't generally speaking, farm all that much - farming tends to be boring.
But when I do, I farm for whatever particular item I may be wanting at the time (such as feathers). Sometimes I will do 600/smite runs through an area or dungeon - particularly CoF - just for the general materials/drops/gold that you get. In the long run, I've found it to be just as useful to just play the game (do quests, dungeons, etc.) and use the gold gained from that to buy whatever I need, instead of farming for it.

Eles does Hulking elementals outside sardelac (Granite and Misc)
55 Necro/Monk does minators (Just for a change really)
600 Rit still learning the ins and out to start CoF and maybe some others
